Electric Service
Need to get the electric service put in your name?
View our service area map to see where we have utility infrastructure.
If you would like to establish a new account with Guthrie County REC, print out our membership application form, fill in the information requested, and mail the application to our Customer Service Department. Click here to print out a joint account membership application form.
When applying for utility service, a security deposit may be charged. Our standard deposit is based on the highest bill from the last member's 12 months of usage and is due within 30 days of service activation. After you have completed 12 consecutive months of payments with no more than one late payment, your deposit will be credited back to your account.
Deposits may be waived providing we receive a letter of good credit from your previous electric utility for the previous 12 months of service. For more information on deposits or applying for new service, call us at 641.747.2206 or 888.747.2206.
Are you moving away? Do you need to disconnect the electric service?
When moving or terminating service for any reason, you are responsible for the electric usage on your account(s) until the cooperative is contacted and arrangements have been made. Please provide us with a forwarding address so a final bill can be sent. We recommend keeping a current address on file with us so that patronage dividends can be mailed to you in future years.
Please contact us at the cooperative to terminate service on your account. For more information, contact our Billing Clerk by phone at 641.747.2206 or 888.747.2206.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve you!.
