Pull the Plug Program Rewards

Your cooperative is working with Environmental Services of Iowa (ESI) to reward members for removing and recycling inefficient refrigerators, freezers and window air conditioners that are operational.

In order for the appliance to be eligible for the program incentive, they must be in working condition. 

All you have to do is cocntact your cooperative and request collection of certain operable appliance(s).  ESI will contact you to verify the information and schedule a pick-up date for the eligible appliance(s).

Why Recycle?

The average refrigerator aged 10 years or older contains more than 120 pounds of recyclable steel!  The energy saved by recycling one such refrigerator is equivalent to almost 290 kilowatt-hours.  That is enough energy to run a new ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerator for eight months.

Appliance Incentives

Refrigerator - $35/unit

Freezer - $25/unit

Window air conditioner - $25/unit
