If you would like to establish a new account with Guthrie County REC, print out our membership application form, fill in the information requested, and mail the application to our Customer Service Department. Once your application is received, a customer service representative will contact you for any additional information and to confirm your request. When applying for utility service, a security deposit may be charged. Our standard deposit is based on the highest bill from the last member's 12 months of usage and is due within 30 days of service activation. After you have completed 12 consecutive months of payments with no more than one late payment, your deposit will be credited back to your account.
Deposits may be waived by providing one of the following items:
- A letter of good credit from your previous electric utility for your previous 12 months of service; or
- A previous account with Guthrie County REC that demonstrates a timely payment record.
